This is to document a simple fix for a problem I've had very often with shared website hosting packages...namely, that large FTP uploads tend to time out or just stop transferring after a while. I've noticed this with several FTP clients, including using FTP from Internet Explorer and Firefox, as well as with Dreamweaver's built-in FTP client.

I've been a long-standing user of Mozilla's Firefox application as an alternative to Internet Explorer. Being an advocate for open-source technologies, I (of course) frequently take the opportunity to extoll the advantages of open-source alternatives to non-technologically-inclined friends of mine.
