So I receive this email, just when I'd given up on Sunrocket ever getting back to me:
------------------------
Dave,
This is Travis from SunRocket technical support. Since you did not have a phone to call, I am sending this email to you to help get you installed.
From the email you sent in, it seems like you may have been connected behind your router at first and our representative had you change that. The gizmo should work either way as long as your firewall isn’t blocking too many ports, and if it is you can set the gizmo in the DMZ.
I did a search on your gizmo’s MAC address (or the one in the account anyway) and it was connecting fine, it just was trying to download a file that did not exist and couldn’t complete the setup procedure. I created that file for you so you should just have to connect the gizmo again and power it on. The MAC address I have on file it 00a0120c7388. If the MAC address on the bottom of your gizmo is different, please call or email us with the new MAC so we can change that and get your equipment working.
Regards,
SunRocket NOC

Great, I think. So they sent me a dud Gizmo, which is looking for some random update file that they don't have on their site anymore. Ok, whatever, at least this is going to work, right?
Wrong.
So I connect my Gizmo again, behind the router, and turn it on. Nothing. Same as before...first light goes on, WAN light is on, ready light keeps blinking, nothing else happens. I wait ten minutes.
Then I do the Gizmo's reset to admin defaults sequence on it, through the telephone (you dial ##default# on your phone, connected to line 1 on the Gizmo). The management light comes on, as it should. It blinks. It goes solid. It stays solid for the 20 minutes I'm down there watching it.
At some point I get tired of doing situps and waiting for Sunrocket to work, so I power cycle it. Nothing. Goes back the blinking ready light routine. Then I try resetting it again...goes back to the blinking, then solid, management light.
That's how it is now, sitting down in the basement...it's been about half an hour.
Well, Sunrocket? What's next? Wait a week to respond to my email, and then write back to say there's probably a little alien in my Gizmo that's keeping it from working, and I should shake it up and down really hard to make the little bugger cooperate?
At this point, I'm waiting for Sunrocket's response out of sheer morbid curiosity.
