Get Illinois Online List

The Get Illinois Online coalition was formed specifically to address internet access for the state, and is very actively involved in efforts to ensure the Chicago Wifi RFP moves in the right directions.

There is currently a very low-volume list discussing the draft, and the need for the general public to comment on it. It is in everyone's best interest for you to take part, if you're interested in hearing more about the draft process in Chicago or shaping our future wifi network.

To subscribe to this list click here. This will open your email client with an email...just click send, without changing any of the text in the email. You should get two emails from Majordomo, one with a confirmation code to verify that you want to subscribe (this is a security measure...it keeps other people from signing you up).

For those of you public computing labs or other places where it might be better to use a webmail account (like Gmail, or Yahoo) you can send an email to majordomo@getillinoisonline.net with the text "subscribe chicago" and nothing else in the body of your email. That should do it.

It's vitally important that you add your voice to this process, because this will change the way we live and work in Chicago, with implications for other major cities around the United States.
